JFK to Wall Street

by Matt Mawson

Earlier this year I flew into La Guardia airport New York to show my photographic portfolio to a Design Agency based in an office off Wall Street. Here is a series of photographs illustrating the trip from the airport to the hotel and from there down into the subway hopping out at Wall Street.

I can almost feel the atmosphere and smell the smells of the city. You captured the essence of what makes New York so exciting! And I’ve never even been to New York! Wonderful photos!

I’m a New Yorker and see this stuff every day; these photos capture the je-ne-sais-quoi of this great city. Love the photos with the underground steam!

  3. This is amazing stuff. Great framing and composition. I love how you have made even the mundane seem magical.

I will share it on Facebook as soon as the site is back up.

    Thank you for sharing.

Just perfect! (although I would take out a few similar ones, not the bridges!) Love the story, love the photos. I’ve lived here for 30 years and I would have shot the exact same thing if I put it together. Love the story aspect of it!!!

I love some of the shots; they’re really good. But I would like to disagree with previous comments :)
I don’t see any emotion or concept (it’s supposed to be conceptual, right?) whatsoever. And your story clearly confirms that.
No need to say, it doesn’t change the photographic values of your photos…
