uumm… very candid and a collection of “lost” photographs.
no sense of direction and neither evokes any feeling.
Pic # 2,3,10 are good… whats with the toddler?
I don’t know. Just doesn’t work for me. The ’shot through misty glass’ effect really stops me getting involved and gave me a headache and the baby - what’s going on there? Generally we cannot equate kids of that age with melancholy and sadness unless we know that the child came from that background. Doesn’t get my vote.
I appreciate all comments. Most of these pictures are polaroids and have no intention to be anything else other than Polaroids. The reason I posted a picture of my daughter is because i can see in her, as in all children, something pure, there is nothing purer and silent than a child’s gaze in my opinion (and not sadness, the title doesn’t mention sadness but silence , which are quite different things). Even though Melancholia means sadness, it’s something that lingers for longer, some people are just more melancholic than others, doesn’t mean they are sad, but they just have something in their eyes that takes you to another time.
I enjoyed the poignancy of the images; the grainy aesthetic of each picture complemented its raw depth.
