Walking the Block

by Jo Ann Santangelo

Walking the Block: Christopher Street, NYC: nightfall manifests an isolated and fabled world of faces—transgenders, queers, prostitutes, drug dealers, pier kids, and curious admirers—all walking the block. Last month my camera and I were welcomed into this night time world. Through a series of photographs, interviews and ambient sound collections, this project will be an in-depth look at Christopher Street's infamous dwellers.

  1. cant believe this only got one vote from me. Perhaps it is a new submission and no one had the chance to vote yet but personally I think this is the most “real” out of all the submissions I have seen so far.

I guess some of them are shot from the hip? I am interested in the combination with the sound collections. But the series also stands very well as it is.
