Between the almost daily electric blackouts and increases of up to 700% (that’s right seven hundred!) in the electric billings to consumers, the highest mortality rate of the Swine Flu virus in the world, alarm by the Pope in the Vatican for the poverty where statistically 2 of every 10 of Argentina’s children suffer hunger and another statistic that 40% of the total population in Argentina are in a state of poverty*, while the national government signs an agreement that destines 600 million Argentine pesos (Euros$108,892,922.00 at today’s rate of exchange) PER YEAR of the taxpayers money to guarantee the “free” viewing of football (soccer) on public television during the next ten years, these are a few “notes” of the patio in an apartment building in Buenos Aires, Argentina built at the end of the 19th century.
