EAST OF TURKEY

by Rich Riordan

With “East of Turkey” I wanted to show the daily life of the Kurdish people of the south east of that country. They had been largely forced from their mountain villages and pasture lands through violent clashes with the Turkish army in the 1990’s. Most have resettled in larger towns in the east and still suffer cultural and economic hardship.
