EUROPE IS MELTING INTO SOMETHING ELSE (AND SO AM I)
by Arianna Sanesi
In September 2008 I was tired, heartbroken, confused. I had fallen in love, been betrayed, worked hard to make my life better no matter how tough it could be. I left, and floated in those territories that linked Europe to the East. Those places too have fallen in love and been betrayed, those places too are confused with multiple identities and experience a struggle between past and future. I kept silent for days, ate well and went to sleep very early. I watched a lot of tv before closing my eyes in tiny hotel rooms. I've met people whose language I couldn't speak and others that kept me awake talking. I've loved those days and those days loved me back.
