Beneath Paris
by Tania Crow
From the banks of the River Seine, the evolution of Paris and its history is confronting; the city itself is the most romanticized in the world. The Paris metro however, is as understated as it gets, yet it carts an immense 4.5 million passengers a day across one of the densest metro networks in the world, with 245 stations squeezed into a 34 sq mile zone. It is the realm of the ordinary, far removed from the towering monuments, the beloved, idolized banks of the River Seine, the broad, majestic, sweeping boulevards designed for strolling and promenading. It is the unglamorous current that flows beneath.

What a picture! I like the contrast between the woman who’s out of focus and the person in focus who’s carrying their shopping on the train. Keep the photographs coming!
